Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. After moving to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma enrolled at The Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. As a young girl of six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons on singing, acting, as well as dancing. She had already performed in a variety of Stagecoach or school shows before she turned ten. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the film adaptation of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was filmed for the first time at the beginning of 1999. Agents for casting found Emma through her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been picked for these parts. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film appearance was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). It was the year's top grossing film, breaking records on opening day as well as the first weekend. Critics praised the film and its performances by the three leading actors of the young generation. The Daily Telegraph in Britain that is distributed widely and widely read, praised her performance as admirable. Emma was later awarded five prizes in recognition of her work in the movie.
